JAKARTA — Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) decided to postpone a working meeting and public hearing session with PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara and the Ministry of Cooperatives that was scheduled for today, Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The meeting had been scheduled to discuss the progress of establishing Red and White Village/District Cooperative (KDMP) outlets, as well as the issue of importing 105,000 vehicles from India to support the programme.

However, the meeting was ultimately postponed because Director General of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota failed to attend. Joao’s attendance was represented by Agrinas Pangan Nusantara’s Procurement Director, Elphis Rudy.

From the Ministry of Cooperatives, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono was observed to attend the meeting directly.

Commission VI Chairman Anggia Erma Rini initially opened the meeting at 1:16 PM. She then questioned the absence of Agrinas Pangan Nusantara’s Director General.

According to her, Joao’s health had deteriorated since the previous evening during an internal meeting. “For the Director General of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, he is currently unwell. Last night, during our meeting, he was already wearing a jacket and sweating profusely, and after returning home developed a high fever,” she explained.

Following this explanation, several Commission VI members interrupted and proposed postponing the meeting. They believed there were many issues that should be answered directly by the Agrinas Director General alongside the Cooperatives Minister.

One such concern was raised by Commission VI Member from the PDIP Faction, Mufti Anam, who expressed disappointment at the Agrinas Director General’s absence.

“We are naturally disappointed by the absence of the Director General, so on this occasion we request that this be postponed entirely, leadership, because we do not want to pass responsibility back and forth between the Agrinas Director General and the Ministry of Cooperatives,” he said.

However, Anggia believed the discussion would be incomplete without the Agrinas Director General present, and the meeting would potentially need to be held twice if it proceeded.

“If we hold separate meetings, I consider it incomplete because the Director General is not here, so it would be a shame if we need to meet again later, as we would need to confirm again, doing double the work and holding double the meetings,” she said.

Consequently, she agreed to the proposal by Commission VI members to postpone the meeting until a later date to be determined.

“So it is better that I agree with the members’ proposal that we postpone our meeting, and we will find out when it can be rescheduled. We will coordinate when it is possible, at the latest before the Ramadan break,” Anggia stated.

“With this, our meeting is postponed, and we will notify you with further information,” she added whilst closing the meeting.
