Parliament Summons Purbaya to Discuss State Budget and Early-Year Economic Situation
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Commission XI of the House of Representatives has summoned Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa along with his team to discuss the performance of state revenues throughout the first quarter of 2026, as well as efforts to optimise them.
Purbaya was accompanied by Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance Robert Marbun, Director General of Taxation Bimo Wijayanto, Director General of Customs and Excise Djaka Budhi Utama, and Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy Febrio Kacaribu.
“We view the performance of state revenues as the primary foundation in maintaining fiscal sustainability and national economic stability amid the highly dynamic global dynamics at present, which requires strengthening,” said Chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives Mukhamad Misbakhun at the opening of the meeting on Monday (6/4/2026).
Misbakhun stated that the optimisation of state revenues is important to support the eight national development priority agendas, such as food security, energy, people’s schooling, MBG, as well as quality education and healthcare.
He mentioned that the optimisation of state revenues is also crucial to ensure that the state budget can continue to serve as an instrument supporting public purchasing power amid the current high economic pressures.
“The government remains committed to not making price adjustments as an effort to strongly protect public purchasing power,” he emphasised.
