Parliament Pushes for Acceleration of People's School Proposals in 13 Districts/Cities Across South Kalimantan

Banjarbaru (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal is pushing for the acceleration of the realisation of proposals to build People’s Schools in all districts and cities in South Kalimantan so that equitable access to education can be comprehensively and justly achieved as soon as possible. He stated that most local governments in the area have actually submitted proposals for the construction of People’s Schools, but there are still technical obstacles preventing all of them from receiving approval from the central government to date. “Based on explanations from the local governments, out of a total of 13 districts/cities, only a few regions are still facing obstacles, particularly related to land readiness that does not yet meet the required administrative or technical standards,” he said during a visit to the Integrated People’s School (SRT) 9 Banjarbaru in Banjarbaru on Wednesday. Cucun assessed that this situation needs to be followed up immediately through intensive coordination between local governments and relevant ministries so that every obstacle can be resolved quickly and not prolonged. In addition, he will also conduct further coordination at the central level to ensure that proposals from South Kalimantan are truly accommodated in ongoing and future development plans. Cucun stated that accelerating the construction of People’s Schools is very important to prevent disparities in educational access between regions, especially in areas with limited quality educational facilities. “Of course, we hope that all districts and cities in South Kalimantan can have People’s Schools at relatively the same time and provide even benefits to the community,” Cucun said.
