JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR RI) has not held any sessions or meetings after the Eid holiday in 2026, which ended on Wednesday (15/3/2026). In fact, the DPR is currently still in Session Period IV of the 2025-2026 Session Year, not in recess.

So, are the people’s representatives still on holiday?

DPR Secretary General Indra Iskandar acknowledged that the DPR is currently still in session period.

“Eh yes, this is actually the session period, so indeed some are in their electoral districts and so on. And overall activities will start on next Monday,” said Indra when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday (26/3/2026).

Indra explained that next week, Commission III of the DPR is scheduled to hold several meetings related to legal cases.

“So actually, there is no time for holiday in this context, but there are specific visits to the regions by the commissions and such,” he added.
