The Deputy Chair of Commission VIII in the House of Representatives, Abidin Fikri, has urged the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) to promptly disburse Professional Teacher Allowances (TPG) for madrasah teachers before Eid 2026.

According to Abidin, madrasah teacher allowances are a central government obligation. He expressed concern that delays could potentially trigger social unrest among the community.

“Delays in madrasah teacher allowance payments could potentially trigger social unrest if teacher rights are not prioritised on time before Eid,” he said when contacted on Monday, 6 March.

Based on findings during the parliamentary recess period, Abidin revealed that he has received numerous complaints from madrasah teachers expressing concern over delayed allowances.

Abidin urged Kemenag to accelerate verification of Simpatika system data to enable approximately 405,438 madrasah teachers to promptly receive their monthly entitlements without waiting for Eid to arrive.

Although stage 3 and 4 disbursements of the Feasibility Analysis Decision Letters for Allowance Recipients (SKAKPT) are currently underway as of today, this phased process must be expedited to avoid disappointing thousands of religious educators whose salaries remain low.

The PDIP politician stressed that his faction would not remain silent. Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, Abidin continued, would monitor the allowance disbursement process to ensure timely distribution.

“Commission VIII will not stand idle; we will oversee the process to ensure madrasah teacher rights are fulfilled on time before Eid, preventing widespread protests due to this injustice,” he said.
