The arrival of state officials, diplomats, and institutional leaders comes ahead of the state agenda of the MPR RI Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
Quoted from Antara, convoys of invited guests’ vehicles, including state officials’ vehicles under strict police escort, began entering the Parliament Complex area ahead of the opening of the session, which is scheduled to begin at 08.30 WIB.
A number of important figures are scheduled to attend, ranging from ambassadors of friendly nations, ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, leaders of state institutions, to former Presidents and Vice Presidents as well as former parliamentary leaders across periods.
In this year’s series of the MPR RI Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI, President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to deliver the State Address as well as present the performance report of state institutions before all the people’s representatives.
The arrival of the VVIP and VIP guests took place under strict escort by a combined security force deployed at all access points to the parliamentary area. Officers on the ground appeared busy managing the flow of vehicles to ensure the smooth mobility of session participants.
The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police appealed to road users passing through the Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto and Senayan areas to be aware of potential vehicle congestion.
“We appeal to the public as road users to anticipate potential traffic congestion around the Senayan area. The President’s State Address agenda is scheduled to take place from 08.00 WIB until finished,” said Arif in Jakarta on Friday.
Arif emphasised that the diversion scheme and traffic flow engineering around the Parliament Complex is flexible. Road closures or diversions will only be implemented situationally following the increase in vehicle volume on the ground.
