Commission XI of the House of Representatives held a closed meeting with the government to discuss the continuation of drafting the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Bill (RUU P2SK).

Following the meeting, Financial Ministry expert staff Herman Saheruddin revealed that the discussions that emerged were limited to preliminary follow-up talks regarding the submission of the List of Problem Inventory (DIM) to the House of Representatives.

“It’s only the initial discussion. It’s just the official submission of the DIM to the DPR,” said Herman when met at the DPR Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/3/2026).

Herman stated that the DIM had actually been ready since December last year, but the government was waiting for the right time to submit it to the DPR RI so that discussions could be held as soon as possible.

“This DIM was actually already available in December. We were waiting because there were many agendas. Now it’s the right time, to carry out discussions as soon as possible. Because this law is indeed very vital,” he explained.

He was not yet willing to detail the contents of the DIM submitted by the government to the DPR, including the articles to be revised from Law No. 4 of 2023.

As is known, in February 2026, the Government and the DPR had actually begun holding formal meetings to discuss the revision of Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (UU P2SK), which was passed as a DPR initiative proposal in a plenary session in October 2025.

However, the initial discussions between government representatives, consisting of the Minister of Finance, Minister of PANRB, Minister of State Secretary, and Minister of Law with Commission XI of the DPR, were only related to the mechanisms of the discussion stages, not yet reaching the substance of the bill.

“In accordance with Presidential Letter No. R72/Pres/11/2025 dated 27 November 2025, the president has assigned the minister of finance along with the Minister of PANRB, State Secretary, and Minister of Law to represent the government in discussions on the bill to amend the UU P2SK,” said Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa when starting the discussion meeting with Commission XI of the DPR in Jakarta on Wednesday (4/2/2026).

In this meeting, Purbaya emphasised that the government would submit the list of problem inventory (DIM) from the bill to amend UU P2SK to the DPR through Commission XI. Subsequently, the government is ready to conduct detailed discussions in the working committee meeting led by Deputy Chairman of Commission XI Mohamad Hekal from the Gerindra Faction.

“The government submits the DIM of the bill to amend UU P2SK to the DPR. Subsequently, the government is ready to carry out discussions with the DPR in accordance with the applicable stages of legislation drafting,” he stated.
