JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The parking operators in Blok M, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, were sealed by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency on Monday (11/5/2026).

The sealing was carried out due to illegal collection practices that have harmed the state over the past three years.

“Within the Blok M area, illegal parking operations have persisted for three years, collecting money from the public without any permit, illegally taking money that rightfully belongs to the public,” explained Ahmad Lukman Jupiter, Chairman of the DPRD DKI Jakarta Parking Supervisory Committee, at the location on Monday.

Jupiter assessed that the reports received by the Parking Management Unit of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency from the operators did not match reality.

Moving forward, parking management in Blok M will be fully handled by the UP Parkir Dishub DKI Jakarta, using a non-cash payment method.

The implementation of non-cash payments is aimed at preventing further losses and revenue leaks to the state.

“We do not want any more leaks or manipulations by certain individuals collecting from the public,” he stressed.

Therefore, all exit gates in Blok M were sealed. Officers from the UP Parkir Dishub DKI Jakarta will carry out a system update.

The Head of UP Parkir, Massdes Arouffy, targeted the update to be completed today so that services can resume tomorrow.

“We will endeavour to do it as quickly as possible. After this sealing, tonight we will immediately upgrade the system, hoping that tomorrow it will already function with the new system,” Massdes said on the same occasion.

To ensure no wild collections occur, the government is collaborating with TNI-Polri to guard the Blok M area.
