Parking Operator in Blok M Has Not Renewed Permit Since 2023

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The parking operator at Blok M Square is suspected of not having renewed its permit through the management since 2023.

The Head of the Jakarta Selatan Parking Implementation Unit, Damanik, stated that Best Parking’s permit has expired since then.

“That means Best Parking should have renewed its permit. The last one was in 2023, perhaps there was some obstacle like forgetting or something, so the permit expired,” Damanik said when met at Blok M Square on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

Furthermore, the Head of the Parking Unit of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department, Massdes Arouffy, explained that his side only recently learned about the unrenewed permit.

This was uncovered in a meeting held by the DKI Jakarta DPRD Special Parking Committee.

There, not only the Blok M management but also management of shopping centres with parking systems were summoned.

“We only found out yesterday; PTSP also just realised, oh, it’s dead in the system. But yesterday the system didn’t have notifications, reminders like that. If someone asks, then it’s checked, but there’s no automatic notification or alert if the permit expires,” Massdes said when contacted by telephone.

Nevertheless, Massdes said that the parking operator continues to fulfil its obligations.

From taxes to levies, totalling Rp 1 billion.

In the future, to ensure that revenue recording matches what is reported to the government, payments will only be allowed via non-cash methods.

“What is expected is that if the system is upgraded to full cashless, it can increase (revenue), nothing will slip through. Because previously, some payments were still in cash,” Massdes said.
