Parking Locations Announced for National Prayer and Dhikr Event at Monas Tonight
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) have prepared several parking areas for the public attending the National Prayer and Dhikr event at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, tonight. Parking locations have been categorised based on departure regions.
“Parking zones have been prepared and divided by departure region: Jakarta region—parking zones around Monas; West Java region—JIEXPO Kemayoran parking area, with drop-off and pick-up points at Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur; Banten region—Aldiron parking zones, with drop-off and pick-up points at the Patung Kuda Roundabout,” stated the TMC Polda Metro X account on Saturday (1/8/2026).
Police anticipate an increase in vehicle volume and will implement traffic engineering on several roads surrounding the Monas area. Authorities advise the public to plan their journeys using alternative routes and to follow the instructions of officers on the ground to ensure smooth traffic flow.
“Participants are expected to utilise the provided parking zones and adhere to traffic signs to support collective smoothness, order, and security,” wrote TMC Polda Metro Jaya.
Police have prepared 21 parking zones for public use. These include the old Pertamina building, National Gallery, PLN Central Jakarta, Ministry of Trade, Lemhannas, Telkom, Danareksa, and Bank Indonesia. Other locations include the Ministry of Religious Affairs building, Gambir Station, Istiqlal Mosque, Indonesia Post Office, Lapangan Banteng, Dhanapala, OJK, Benyamin Sueb, JIEXPO Kemayoran, Sapta Pesona, along APEC, Cekungan Plaza Barat, IRTI Monas Field, and various State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) sites.
“Please prioritise safety while driving, obey traffic regulations, and follow the directions of officers on the ground,” added TMC Polda Metro Jaya.
To secure the National Prayer and Dhikr event at Monas, Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 1,263 joint personnel. “On Saturday, 1 August, the National Prayer and Dhikr will be held as part of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence. A total of 1,26ral 63 joint personnel, consisting of Polda Metro Jaya, the TNI (National Armed Forces), and local government, will be involved,” said Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Friday (31/7).
Budi noted that public access points for entering and exiting the Monas area will be provided at the east, southeast, and Lapangan Ikada gates. Meanwhile, VIP guests will be directed to the west gate of Monas. The Northwest gate of Monas is reserved for the President, Vice President, and VVIP/VIP invitees. Personnel have been stationed to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees, as well as to maintain routine public activities.
