Parking attendants to prevent theft

DENPASAR, Bali: The local police have urged parking
attendants in Bali to assist police in preventing thefts of
vehicles put in their care

"Parking attendants are at the forefront in the campaign to
stop car thefts," Col. Wenny Setiawan of the Nusa Tenggara Police
said in a meeting with 160 attendants on Wednesday, Antara
reported.

"You have to be more vigilant and quick, as well as active
in your job, so you can prevent car thefts or at least minimize
the frequency," Wenny said.

Car thefts are frequent in Denpasar, not only in car parks
but often in front of car owners' homes.

Police also reminded parking attendants that they should
assist police in ensuring traffic order. (emb)
