Parking Attendant Testifies on Discovery of Sutrimo's Body at South Jakarta Clinic
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A parking attendant has given testimony regarding the discovery of the body of a man named Sutrimo at a clinic in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta on Thursday (23 January).
“When I saw it, there was foam coming from his nose or maybe his mouth, I don’t know because I was far away,” said the parking attendant, named Deni, speaking to journalists in Jakarta on Monday.
Deni said he had never seen or spoken with the victim prior to the incident.
He also noted that the building had long been out of operation.
According to him, the clinic had been closed for about a year, so there was no longer any activity from visitors or vehicles coming and going.
“It’s been empty. No activity at all. Cars never came in, only the occasional motorcycle,” he said.
Deni said he only learned of the discovery after waking at around 08:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). By then, he said, many people had already gathered around the location.
He said he saw the body lying in the inner courtyard inside the clinic’s fence, covered with a bedsheet.
Shortly afterwards, an ambulance arrived to evacuate the victim.
Although he was near the location, Deni said he did not know who first found the victim or who called the ambulance.
Meanwhile, Polda Metro Jaya, together with the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, is still investigating by gathering clues at the location, including processing the crime scene and tracing CCTV recordings around the clinic area.
Based on observations at the scene, police began removing the yellow police tape installed along the clinic’s fence at 13:11 WIB.
A number of personnel from the Central Forensic Laboratory Team (Labfor), dressed in black, were seen entering the clinic’s inner courtyard.
They were also seen carrying several pieces of evidence, including a black box, a pillow with a green bedsheet, and several items in clear plastic bags.
They then opened the clinic’s entrance and removed the police tape.
The clinic appeared deserted and covered in dry leaves, as if it had long been unvisited. Meanwhile, a number of media crews were seen waiting for the latest news on the crime scene processing.
Police completed the crime scene processing at 14:13 WIB.
Polda Metro Jaya, together with the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, is investigating the cause of death of a man named Sutrimo, who was found unconscious in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta on Thursday (23 January).
Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Chief Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained in Jakarta on Sunday that, based on preliminary information, the victim was found lying in the courtyard of the Mordent Clinic in Kebayoran Baru.
