Parking Attendant Killed After Being Hit by Two Cars in Sleman, Police Search for First Driver
Police are still investigating a fatal accident that killed a parking attendant, identified as S (64), on Jalan Monjali, also known as Nyi Condrolukito, in Sleman. The attendant died after being hit by two cars, and the driver of the first vehicle is still being sought by police.
"Investigators are currently examining the chronology of the incident, including the whereabouts of the driver involved in the first impact after the accident," said Sleman Police Public Relations Head, Iptu Argo Anggoro, when contacted on Friday (17/7/2026).
Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and they cannot yet conclude that the incident was a hit-and-run case. "We cannot conclude there is an alleged hit-and-run before the investigation process is complete. For now, investigators are still searching for the clearest CCTV footage around the location," he stressed.
The accident occurred on Jalan Monjali, within the Gemawang hamlet, Sinduadi village, Mlati district, Sleman, on Thursday (16/7) at 6:01 PM Western Indonesian Time. The victim, who was crossing the road at the time, was hit by a car and thrown into the opposite lane. There, the victim was struck again by a Toyota Agya.
The victim, identified by the initial S (64), was a resident of Tegalrejo, Yogyakarta City, who worked daily as a parking attendant. He died while receiving medical treatment at Dr Sardjito General Hospital. "That is correct, the victim died while undergoing medical treatment at Dr Sardjito General Hospital," Argo said.
The driver of the Toyota Agya, identified as AF (23), a resident of Bekasi, along with a passenger, SN (53), also a Bekasi resident, were uninjured.
