Parking Attendant and Fisherman Arrested in Mataram, 271 Ecstasy Pills and 67 Grams of Meth Seized

A parking attendant and a fisherman in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), have been arrested by police with 271.5 ecstasy pills and 67.56 grams of methamphetamine seized as evidence. They are suspected of being part of an inter-island drug network.

Head of the Mataram Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Remanto, stated that the arrested suspects have the initials AS (26) and F (27). Both were apprehended in the early hours of the morning.

“Based on their confession, this is a network from outside NTB. According to their statements, they obtained the drugs from someone in Bogor,” Remanto said on Wednesday (15/7/2026).

The two suspects were arrested in separate locations. The first suspect, AS, was arrested in the car park of a boarding house in Cakranegara, Mataram City. AS was apprehended with three ecstasy pills as evidence. “During interrogation, AS admitted to obtaining the items from someone in the Ampenan area,” he stated.

The person identified by AS was F. Following further investigation, F was arrested at a house in the South Gatep neighbourhood, South Ampenan Village, Ampenan District, Mataram City. During the search, police found 15 clips of methamphetamine and one bundle of clear plastic clips inside a safe. Police also discovered hundreds of ecstasy pills stored in a jar.

“From the development of the first suspect, we managed to secure another suspect believed to be the source of the goods. The total evidence we seized consists of 67.46 grams of methamphetamine and 271.5 ecstasy pills,” he said.

Both suspects and the evidence are currently being held at the Mataram Police Station for further investigation. Police are also conducting further inquiries to uncover the possibility of other networks linked to the case. “Both suspects are currently undergoing intensive examination. We will continue to develop this case to expose a wider narcotics distribution network,” he added.
