Parking at Sarinah
Parking at Sarinah
From Media Indonesia
I intended to shop at Sarinah on Jalan Thamrin on Oct. 10 but
was unable to find a parking space. Like a number of other
motorists, I found myself driving around and around the parking
lot in a long line, without being able to park.
Admittedly part of the parking lot was under repair, but this
was not the main reason for the trouble finding a parking place.
Several empty spaces were apparently not available to store
visitors, because I was chased away by a security guard who
indicated that I could not park in those spots.
I went in circles for at least half an hour before I shelved
my plan to shop at Sarinah. Even though I had never parked, I was
made to pay up Rp 1,000 on my way out, for fruitlessly cruising
around in that parking lot.
The Sarinah parking attendants should have informed us that no
more space was available before we entered the parking lot. It
would have saved me and a lot of other would-be shoppers a great
deal of trouble.
