Park Bom of 2NE1 Claims Sandara Park Was Involved in a Drug Scandal: Here Is the Full Timeline
South Korean singer Park Bom has sparked a fresh controversy early in 2026. In a handwritten letter posted on her personal Instagram on Tuesday 3 March 2026, the 2NE1 member levelled serious allegations involving her former bandmate Sandara Park. The letter, since deleted, claimed that she had been made a ‘scapegoat’ to cover up a drug scandal involving Sandara Park in the past. The statement sent shockwaves through the global K-pop fan community.
Park Bom revisited the longstanding case regarding her use of Adderall, which had drawn attention in 2010 and became public in 2014. She insisted that Adderall is not a narcotic but a prescription medication used to treat ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) that she suffers from.
However, the most shocking point was when she named Sandara Park. ‘Because Sandara Park was caught in a drug scandal, they made Park Bom into a drug addict to cover it up,’ wrote Park Bom in the letter. She also highlighted what she saw as inconsistencies in South Korea’s regulations, which she said had been tightened only after the case came to light, even though there were no clear legal rules about Adderall at the time.
‘Towards Korean citizens, hello. I am Park Bom. I am writing this to tell the truth… Adderall is not drugs. I am an ADD patient. Because Sandara Park was caught in a drug scandal, they made Park Bom into a drug addict to cover it up.’
‘Towards YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy Park, and Lee Chae-rin (CL), please do not report to authorities that Park Bom used medication beyond prescribed dosage…’
It did not take long for Sandara Park to respond to the accusations. On Wednesday 4 March 2026, via Instagram Story, Sandara delivered a brief but firm statement in Korean and English: ‘I have never used drugs. I wish her the best.’ The move was supported by fans who lamented the open accusation amid their long-standing close friendship.
In response to the uproar, Park Bom’s close associates told Korean media OSEN that the letter was written while Park Bom’s emotional state was unstable. Since August last year, Park Bom has halted all activities in the entertainment world to focus on mental health recovery.
D-Nation Entertainment previously urged the public to understand Park Bom’s social media posts, given her health condition that requires total rest.
As of now, neither YG Entertainment nor CL (Lee Chae-rin) has issued an official statement regarding their names being cited in the controversial letter. (Z-10)
