Parigi Moutong Prepares 9.2 Hectares of Land for Permanent People's School
Support from local governments for the People’s School programme continues to grow. One example comes from Parigi Moutong Regency, which has prepared land for the construction of a permanent People’s School in its territory.
“We have prepared 9.2 hectares for the People’s School,” stated the Regent of Parigi Moutong, Erwin Burase, during an audience with Deputy Social Minister Agus Jabo Priyono at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Jakarta on Monday, 11 May 2026.
Erwin explained that the land is located in Jonokalora Village, Parigi Barat Subdistrict. “It is not far from the regent’s office and the town,” he said.
Erwin noted that in his region, many children still require access to education, particularly in remote areas. Therefore, he expressed great hope that the construction of the People’s School in Parigi Moutong Regency could begin this year.
In response to the land proposal from the Regent of Parigi Moutong, Agus Jabo stated that the requirements as determined should be prepared and coordination should be carried out with the joint secretariat for the People’s School. “In accordance with the President’s directives, to always synergise in order to prosper the community,” he said.
Agus Jabo also appreciated the visit from the Regent of Parigi Moutong, who continues to report progress on the People’s School land proposal to the Ministry of Social Affairs. In addition to from Parigi Moutong, Agus Jabo also received audiences from the Head of the Social Services Office of Central Mamuju, Nirwanasari Aras, and the Deputy Chairman of the Sragen DPRD, Muslim.
