Makassar (ANTARA) – The Parepare Class II TPI Immigration Office and the Barru Regency Government have inaugurated an Immigration Service Centre at the Barru Regency Public Service Mall (MPP) to bring immigration services closer to the public.
South Sulawesi Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration head Friece Sumolang, accompanied by Barru Regent Andi Ina Kartika Sari and Parepare Class II TPI Immigration Office head Ade Yanuar Ikbal, inaugurated the centre in Barru on Thursday.
“The Immigration Service Centre is an effort to bring immigration services closer to the public, particularly for passport applications, making the process easier, quicker and more efficient without having to travel to Parepare,” Friece said.
In his remarks, Friece said the centre at the Barru Regency Public Service Mall was a strategic step towards expanding public access to immigration services.
The facility is expected to make services more accessible, effective and efficient, while supporting the delivery of excellent, professional and integrity-driven public services.
Barru Regent Andi Ina Kartika Sari expressed her appreciation to the Parepare Class II TPI Immigration Office for establishing the Immigration Service Centre at the Barru Regency Public Service Mall.
She said the service would make it easier for residents to apply for passports without travelling to Parepare.
“The opening of this service point is also part of Immigration’s commitment to improving the quality of public services so they are accessible, professional and underpinned by integrity,” she said.
The centre was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Barru Regent and Deputy Regent, the head of the South Sulawesi Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, and the head of the Parepare Class II TPI Immigration Office.
The event was also attended by the Barru Regency Regional Secretary, his assistants and heads of local government agencies, the Barru Regency Regional House of Representatives speaker, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of government organisations, and sub-district heads from across Barru Regency.
With the inauguration of the Immigration Service Centre, the Parepare Class II TPI Immigration Office hopes residents of Barru Regency will find it easier to access immigration services.
