A number of parents have reported the West Java Education Office (Disdik Jabar) to the Ombudsman over alleged maladministration in the new student admission selection (SPMB) and prospective new student mapping (PCMB) process for senior high school level in 2026, which they claim caused great harm to the public. “We see indications of maladministration violations committed by the West Java Education Office,” said Iwan Hermawan, Chairman of the West Java Indonesian Education Retirees Association (P3I), on Monday (15/6/2026). He stated that poor service occurred when the application system used during the PCMB-SPMB process experienced frequent problems, causing the schedule to be delayed. Furthermore, parents who filed complaints about the PCMB-SPMB implementation in person were only served by two staff members. He therefore requested that the West Java Ombudsman investigate the West Java Education Office. “If violations are found, there must be a recommendation from the Ombudsman to the governor regarding the maladministration committed by the West Java Education Office,” he said.
