Parents Carry Children Across River to Attend School Examinations

Parents are carrying their children on their shoulders while crossing the Meureubo River to travel from Canggai Village to Jambak Village, Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh, on Friday (6/5/2026). For the past four days, students of SDN Alue Lhok have been forced to traverse the river currents to reach school for their grade promotion examinations. This method is used to shorten an eight-kilometre journey necessitated by the destruction of the suspension bridge connecting the villages, which has not yet been repaired following a flash flood disaster in late November 2025.
