Parcel delivery volumes are surging across several major Indonesian cities as Eid al-Fitr 2026 approaches. Delivery and receipt of various goods at Lion Parcel are predicted to increase approximately 40 per cent in tonnage compared to ordinary days, according to operations at Lion Hub Halim in Jakarta.

Similarly, JNE’s Palembang branch in South Sumatra has experienced a 35 per cent increase in delivery service requests during the holy month of Ramadan 1447H compared to the previous month. The surge is predominantly driven by shipments of food items, clothing, and goods from e-commerce trading platforms.

In Blitar, East Java, parcel delivery companies are reporting daily increases in demand of around 500 additional packages. Facility managers note that package delivery requests have risen to approximately 2,000 per day, compared to the usual figure of around 1,500 packages on ordinary days.

The heightened activity reflects broader consumer behaviour patterns during the Islamic holiday season, with households and businesses increasing their purchasing and delivery activities in preparation for Eid celebrations.
