A few days ago several newspapers published the complaint of
Bapak Hasjrul Harahap, over the service of the Parahiyangan
train.
With regard to the complaint we would like to clarify as
follows.
As soon as we knew about your complaint we instructed the
Director of Operation of the Railway Company to investigate the
case. The investigation's result showed that it was true that
Bapak Hasjrul's family booked four executive tickets to be used
in the second executive coach.
However, on that day (March 19, 1995) the train, which was
scheduled to have two executive coaches, could take the first
coach only, because the second coach was not good enough for the
journey as a result of overuse during the Idul Fitri holiday.
As a consequence, the situation became chaotic, and some
passengers had to be moved to the business class. The official in
charge had apologized to the affected executive class passengers,
including a member of Bapak Hasjrul Harahap's family, for this
inconvenience, and arrangements were made to refund the tickets.
Again we would like to apologize to Bapak Hasjrul Harahap and
his family for the mishap. We would also like assure you that the
company will always try to do its best to give the best possible
services to the community.
