ParagonCorp's Umrah Programme Has Sent 5,000 Employees to Holy Land Since 2017

For ParagonCorp, the Paragonian Umrah Programme was born from a simple desire of the company’s founder to provide as many Paragonians as possible the opportunity to set foot in the Holy Land. To date, more than 5,000 employees have been sent to the Holy Land through the ParagonCorp umrah programme. Founder of ParagonCorp, Nurhayati Subakat, stated that based on the value of Divinity as one of the company’s core values, ParagonCorp believes that human growth is built not only through professional competency development, but also through experiences that strengthen character, self-reflection, and good values. “Sending someone on the hajj has its own process and waiting time. So we wanted to send as many Paragonians to the Holy Land as possible through umrah first,” said Nurhayati in a written message received on Tuesday. She conveyed that this intention was then realised through the ParagonCorp umrah programme, which has been running since 2017. This programme is given to employees who have a minimum service period of seven years as a form of appreciation for their contribution and journey with the company. Director of Corporate Affairs at ParagonCorp, Astri Wahyuni, added that the selection of the seven-year service period was not without reason. During the initial design of the programme, ParagonCorp mapped employee service periods to find a point that would allow the opportunity to be given to more Paragonians. “At that time, Mrs Nur mentioned the figure of seven years. After the HR team mapped the service periods, it turned out to be right, seven years was the most common length of service for Paragonians at that time,” said Astri. Through this approach, Astri revealed that the ParagonCorp umrah programme is designed as an inclusive form of appreciation, without distinguishing rank or job function. The opportunity is given to various lines of Paragonians, ranging from Beauty Advisors, production operators, operational support staff, office staff, to management.
