Paragliding at Puncak Dunu Becomes New Attraction for North Gorontalo

Puncak Dunu is touted as a new hotspot in North Gorontalo due to its paragliding sports offering. Located in Dunu Village, Monano District, Gorontalo Province.

“Alhamdulillah, interest in visiting our village has increased thanks to the opening of the paragliding sports facility at Puncak Dunu,” said Dunu Village Secretary Agusrian Ogu of Monano District.

Visitors to Puncak Dunu can not only enjoy scenic views from above but also test their adrenaline.

Agusrian noted that every weekend, paragliding enthusiasts flock to Puncak Dunu, booking spots at the sports tourism site well in advance. This week, 19 people are undertaking tandem flights, with numbers expected to surge next week.

“We are grateful that the management of this tourist destination with paragliding facilities has attracted tourist attention,” Agusrian said.

Gorontalo tourism practitioner Yasin Ali stated that this trend is positive, with paragliding open trip visits to Puncak Dunu continuously increasing, indicating strong growth in sports tourism.

“This new tourist destination is becoming increasingly popular,” Yasin said.

The appeal of Puncak Dunu extends beyond paragliding; it also serves as a camping site, particularly on the hilltop, offering views of island chains.
