Paradorn headlines over love match

BANGKOK: Thai tennis star Paradorn Srichaphan has caused a
sensation in his home country after being linked with another
homegrown superstar, glamorous singer and actress Tata Young.

Photographs of the pair, probably the two most famous
celebrities in the country, were splashed in the tabloid press
Monday as they sat in the stands at the finals of the Thailand
Open Sunday.

Ignoring the gaze of more than 10,000 tennis fans at the
stadium, they chatted, flirted and linked arms in an open display
of affection.

Tata, whose father is American, fed Paradorn ice cream from a
spoon while world-number-one Juan Carlos Ferrero and hard-serving
U.S. player Taylor Dent slugged it out on court.

Last week Tata was also pictured on the sidelines of the court
during Paradorn's matches before he was bundled out of the
tournament in the quarter-finals.

However, the local press said Tata has some competition. A
well-known model was also seen in the stands supporting Paradorn
during the tournament, the first ATP event to be held in
Thailand.
