JAKARTA — PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk (Paradise Indonesia) has issued a firm response regarding speculation that its latest commercial project, 88Plaza, in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, is facing licensing obstacles.

This follows action by Commission III of the Balikpapan City Regional Parliament (DPRD), which temporarily halted unilateral land-clearing activities for the project located on Syarifuddin Yoes Street, directly in front of the Balikpapan Sport and Convention Center (BSCC) DOME.

The stoppage was imposed during a surprise inspection (Sidak) by Commission III of the Balikpapan DPRD on Monday, 23 February 2026.

CEO Anthony Prabowo Susilo strongly denied the allegation from Commission III DPRD that the project lacked permits.

According to him, the issue arose due to certain parties’ unfamiliarity with the company’s profile, which has long been known for strict compliance with governance standards.

“That is not true (stopped due to lack of permits). All of our permits are complete and we obtained PBG certification from the Land Agency as of December 2025,” Anthony stated when contacted by Kompas.com on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Anthony also expressed regret over parties attempting to find legal loopholes in the project, which was intended to enhance the prestige of East Kalimantan amid the massive development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

“You already know Paradise’s character. We are the most conservative and meticulous developer. They suspect we lack permits simply because they don’t know us,” he continued.

Tensions briefly emerged during the Commission III DPRD inspection of Balikpapan. However, Anthony claims that after data synchronisation and joint discussions, local authorities found no violations whatsoever.

“In the end, after sitting down together, they could not find any deficiencies. As entrepreneurs, if the authorities want to look for a stage, that is fine, as long as we ourselves are organised, sincere, and our work yields positive impact for the community,” he added.

In line with Anthony, Diana Solaiman, Director of PT Mitra Gemilang Mahacipta (a subsidiary of INPP), emphasised that compliance is the company’s primary work ethic.

She appreciated the support of local government in maintaining administrative order for development.

“This aligns with our Building Tomorrow vision. We target major cities with an upper-middle segment. 88Plaza is not merely a row of commercial units but part of a carefully designed urban area master plan intended to become a new icon for Balikpapan,” Diana stated.
