Parachuting meet in Sukabumi

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia will play host to the 1996 World
Parachuting Championships in Lido, Sukabumi, West Java, scheduled
for June 14 to June 24.

The Indonesian Aerosport Association announced on Tuesday that
Indonesia was named the host of the world meet, specialized in
sky team-work, during an International Aeronautical Federation in
Agra, India recently.

The association picked Lido, a famous tourist site that lies
1,400-meter above sea level, over the Halim Perdanakusuma air
force military base in East Jakarta and the Prambanan temple in
Yogyakarta. Parachutists from 20 countries are expected to make
the trip here next year. (amd)
