Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Ribka Haluk has urged the Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) to support the Asta Cita Programme in order to realise welfare across the entire Papua region.

“All the visions conveyed by the President and Vice President are to become an integrated programme reaching the remotest parts of Indonesia,” said Ribka while attending the Deliberation on Development Planning (Musrenbang) for the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) and Special Autonomy (Otsus) of Papua Province for 2027, held virtually from Jakarta on Thursday.

In an official statement, Deputy Minister Ribka stated that this could be achieved by strengthening synergy with the central government, making such efforts a crucial part of realising Indonesia’s Golden 2045.

Ribka explained that various programmes under Asta Cita are designed to support the achievement of Indonesia’s Golden 2045, and citing expert predictions, Indonesia’s economic growth is expected to experience a significant leap in the future, potentially positioning the country as one of the world’s largest economies.

“The Minister of Home Affairs is implementing several programmes to measure inflation levels, poverty, the Human Development Index (HDI), and so on. This is how the government ensures we achieve the targets,” she added.

On the other hand, improving human resource capacity is also being optimised through various priority programmes, such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), People’s Schools, and Garuda Excellence Schools.

These programmes are expected to produce outstanding generations ready to compete at the global level.

Ribka hopes that the Papua Provincial Government can optimise the implementation of these various national priority programmes to deliver tangible impacts on improving community welfare.

“We hope that our friends in Papua, especially the Papua Provincial Government, can maximise all human resource potentials and other potentials to enhance welfare and realise a brighter Papua,” she said.
