Therefore, the 2026 Sikat Cartenz operation conducted by Papua Police from 1 June to 15 July will focus on tackling 3C crimes.

Jayapura (ANTARA) – Inspector General Patrige R. Renwarin, Papua Police Chief, stated that 3C crimes—robbery, aggravated theft and motor vehicle theft—in the jurisdiction of Papua Police have reached 1,076 cases, prompting the 2026 Sikat Cartenz operation to prioritise addressing them.

The high number of 3C cases presents a challenge for Papua Police personnel to suppress and solve them, preventing public unease.

“This is why the 2026 Sikat Cartenz operation, to be carried out by Papua Police from 1 June to 15 July, will focus on tackling 3C crimes,” said Inspector General Patrige R. Renwarin in Jayapura on Sunday.

The high incidence of 3C crimes remains a serious challenge for Papua Police, requiring more effective and measurable measures in handling them.

“3C cases in Papua Police jurisdiction must be a priority for all personnel so that each report is not merely a statistic but reflects public anxiety and losses,” said Inspector General Patrige.

“All personnel are instructed to enhance analytical skills, strengthen coordination, and pursue cases up to the perpetrators and receivers of stolen goods, making the 2026 Sikat Cartenz operation a concrete step by Papua Police to reduce conventional crime—of public concern—and a momentum to bolster public trust in law enforcement efforts by Polri,” said Inspector General Patrige R. Renwarin.
