Papua Police Call for Higher 3C Crime Clearance Rates

Jayapura (ANTARA) - Papua Police have urged all personnel to increase the resolution of crimes involving Curat (robbery with aggravating circumstances), Curas (robbery with violence), and Curanmor (motor vehicle theft), collectively known as 3C, to ensure public safety.

Papua Police Chief Irjen Pol. Patrige R. Renwarin stated on Sunday in Jayapura that the high number of 3C crimes remains a serious challenge requiring concerted efforts from all personnel within the Papua Police jurisdiction.

‘Based on data collected from January to May 2026, there have been 1,076 cases of 3C crimes. This figure underscores the need for more effective and measured steps in law enforcement,’ he said.

‘Therefore, I urge all personnel to enhance their performance in solving cases so that the presence of the Indonesian National Police can be felt by the public through maximum service and protection,’ he added.

He explained that motor vehicle theft remains one of the crimes causing significant economic losses to the public, necessitating special attention.

To this end, Operation Sikat Cartenz 2026 is a concrete step by Papua Police to curb conventional crime rates and strengthen public confidence in the police’s law enforcement efforts.

‘We hope all personnel involved in the operation work professionally, seriously, and responsibly to improve 3C case resolution and create a safe and conducive public order in Papua,’ he said.
