Community involvement in supplying food ingredients is a strategic move to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme not only improves the nutritional quality of beneficiaries but also stimulates local economic growth, particularly for farmers and fishermen. While inspecting the construction of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Supiori, the governor praised the quality of the SPPG construction in Supiori, which was deemed very good and built with permanent materials. He hopes the Supiori Regency can become a pilot project or model for MBG kitchen development in Papua, as most MBG kitchens in other areas are still using lightweight steel construction. He added that currently Supiori Regency has 12 SPPG points, nine of which are in frontier, outermost and underdeveloped (3T) areas. Of these, five points have been completed 100 percent, while the remainder are at around 60 to 70 percent and are targeted to be completed by July 2026.
