Papdesi reaffirms commitment to support government's priority programmes in villages
The Indonesian Village Government Officials Association (Papdesi) has reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting the implementation and success of the government’s priority programmes, especially those in villages.
“We will always comply and submit, standing upright for the government and its programmes, particularly the AstaCita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Papdesi General Chairman Wargiyati in her speech at the II National Conference (Munas) of Papdesi at the Ministry of Villages’ office in Jakarta on Monday.
Wargiyati urged village heads (kades) to align with the government in succeeding its programmes, especially those impacting the improvement of rural community welfare, such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes Merah Putih).
Previously, on the same occasion, the Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto expressed his hope that Papdesi, through the II Munas, could produce recommendations to succeed the implementation of the government’s priority programmes.
Those recommendations, the Minister continued, are also expected to ensure that all of President Prabowo Subianto’s programmes are truly carried out well and their benefits felt by the people in villages.
Minister Yandri then outlined the government’s priority programmes involving villages, including Kopdes Merah Putih, MBG, and Sekolah Rakyat.
It is known that the realisation of thematic villages aims to optimise village development and construction according to their owned potentials. For example, a village with tilapia fish potential will be developed into a tilapia-producing village.
By becoming a thematic village, especially in the food sector, villages can take the role as suppliers of materials in the MBG Programme. Thus, he said, the economic benefits of the MBG Programme can be directly felt by the communities in the villages.
