Pantoloan Port Pushed to Become Central Sulawesi Logistics Hub
Pantoloan Port is one step closer to strengthening its position as the main logistics artery in Central Sulawesi. Today, Friday (12/6), the Pantoloan Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC) team conducted a field survey at PT Terminal Petikemas (TPK) Pantoloan to finalise the designation of a customs area. This is not an ordinary visit; the field verification aims to ensure that all facilities, infrastructure, and supervision systems at the terminal meet the applicable customs legal standards.
Terminal Head of PT Pelindo TPK Pantoloan, Chaerur Rijal, warmly welcomed this synergy. He affirmed that Pelindo is fully committed to overseeing the entire process to ensure the smooth flow of exports, imports, and goods distribution. Moreover, Pantoloan Port is currently the main gateway for local commodities that are rising in international markets, such as montong durian from Parigi Moutong and processed coconut products.
"The export market for montong durian and coconut is growing rapidly. Therefore, reliable logistics infrastructure is a must. Through this customs area, we can maximise modern services such as reefer container handling and export stuffing activities," Chaerul explained. He is optimistic that the facility improvements will make native Central Sulawesi products more formidable and competitive in the global market.
On the other hand, Customs and Excise Examiner Officer (P2) of KPPBC Pantoloan, I Made Nukeyada, stated that this survey is a continuation of coordination with the Head of the DJBC Regional Office for Northern Sulawesi last April. "We are checking the readiness of the operational area, including the stacking yard and the Integrated Physical Inspection Site (TPFT). The data from the field will be compiled as a final report to the Regional Office to formalise the customs area status of TPK Pantoloan," said I Made.
