Jakarta - The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) has proposed an additional budget of Rp150.4 billion for 2027 to support the bureaucratic transformation agenda and the strengthening of digital public services. Minister PANRB Rini Widyantini explained that her ministry’s indicative ceiling for next year was set at Rp348.59 billion. However, this amount still does not cover the real needs to carry out the president’s priority agenda. “Compared to the initial draft of the PANRB Ministry’s budget requirements of Rp551.91 billion, there is a difference of Rp203 billion. Thus, the available indicative ceiling appears to still need strengthening,” Rini said during a working meeting with Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives at Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday. The PANRB Ministry is applying for an additional budget of Rp150.4 billion, consisting of additional funding for policy programmes, professional development, and civil service governance amounting to Rp62.6 billion, and management support programmes amounting to Rp87.79 billion. With this addition, the PANRB Ministry’s total budget requirement for the 2027 fiscal year is projected to be Rp498.99 billion. Rini stated that the additional budget is intended to allow the ministry to carry out the priority agenda of bureaucratic transformation through strengthening public services, digital government, and other development priorities. She added that the budget will be focused on several sectors, including merit-based civil service management transformation, public service transformation, digital government service transformation, and the acceleration of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sumatra. “We hope this budget support can accelerate the realisation of a more effective bureaucracy. We request the support and approval of the esteemed leaders and members of the council for this proposed additional budget for 2027,” she said.
