Panglima Jilah Meets Jokowi in Solo, Invites Him to Play Lead Role in Dayak Film

During a meeting in Solo, Panglima Jilah said, ‘We are maintaining silaturahmi with him regarding cultural customs. We invite him to attend a cultural event in August,’ after meeting Jokowi, as reported by detikJateng on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. In addition to inviting him to the cultural event, Panglima Jilah also invited Jokowi to act in a Dayak film. He said Jokowi had responded positively about the culture. ‘We are also bringing Mr Jokowi to act in a Dayak film. His response was entirely positive about culture,’ he said. Furthermore, Panglima Jilah noted that the planned film would be a grand, epic production. The plan is for Jokowi to play the lead role. ‘The lead role will be his, yes. We will make it as good as possible. The film tells Dayak stories from the past, how the Dayaks collaborated with Java, Majapahit,’ he added. On the other hand, he said that sustaining silaturahmi is important to keep the dialogue going, especially for discussing national issues with Jokowi.
