Pangkalpinang intensifies inflation-control efforts ahead of Idul Adha
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The Pangkalpinang City Government, in Bangka Belitung Islands Province, has intensified inflation control efforts to maintain the stability of prices for the community’s basic needs ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026.
“We are intensifying food assistance to the community to control this inflation,” said Pangkalpinang Mayor Saparudin in Pangkalpinang, on Saturday.
In controlling inflation ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026, Saparudin said the local Regional Inflation Control Team has conducted a coordination meeting to ensure stock and prices of various community needs ahead of the religious holiday are adequate and stable.
“Alhamdulillah, to date stock and prices of community staple foods are still relatively stable and it is hoped the situation will be the same as ahead of Eid al-Fitr last year,” he said.
He stated that in controlling inflation the Pangkalpinang City Government not only intensifies food assistance, but also holds cheap markets, monitors prices and stock of essential goods in markets, and at food-distribution warehouses in the area.
“I have instructed the relevant agencies to further intensify monitoring of prices and stock of staple foods to ensure prices of rice, vegetables, meat and the like remain stable,” he said.
He also called on institutions, agencies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), banks and business players to provide food assistance to the community and stressed this is very important for curbing inflation ahead of the religious holidays.
“I urge state-owned and private companies and banks in Pangkalpinang to provide food assistance to help residents meet their food needs ahead of the Eid al-Adha festival,” he said.
