Pangdam XXII/Tambun Bungai honoured with Dayak customary title
Palangka Raya - Central Kalimantan Dayak Customary Council and the Central Kalimantan Traditional Leaders Coordination Forum have conferred a Dayak customary honour title upon Pangdam XXII/Tambun Bungai, Major General TNI Zainul Arifin. Yulindra Dedy, Secretary General of the Central Kalimantan Dayak Customary Council, stated on Friday in Palangka Raya that the honour is both a mark of respect and a moral responsibility to preserve Dayak customs and culture. ‘This award is not merely symbolic, but also reflects the hope that the Pangdam will collaborate with customary institutions to maintain regional stability,’ he said. According to Yulindra, the title signifies a wise and courageous figure capable of safeguarding Central Kalimantan’s defence and security within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. ‘It is hoped that the Pangdam will share responsibility in developing, preserving, and sustaining Dayak customs in Central Kalimantan,’ he added. ‘This will foster synergy between the Pangdam and customary institutions in Central Kalimantan,’ he said. The conferment of the customary title is also part of efforts to strengthen ties between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Dayak indigenous community to maintain unity and a stable regional environment.
