Pangdam XXI/RI Applauds 100% Completion of Red and White Village Cooperatives in Lampung
Lampung (ANTARA) - Commander of the XXI/Radin Inten Regional Military Command (Pangdam), Major General TNI Kristomei Sianturi, has praised Lampung Province for completing the establishment of 1,124 Red-and-White Village/Urban Ward Cooperatives (KDKMP), reaching 100 percent and making it the highest-achieving province outside Java.
“For Lampung Province, or within Kodam XXI/Radin Inten, we are today ranked fourth nationally, or first among provinces outside Java, in terms of achieving the 100 percent target,” said Kristomei Sianturi when contacted in Bandarlampung on Monday.
He said that as of mid-July 2026, Lampung ranked fourth nationally in the realisation of KDKMP formation, with a total of 1,124 village and urban ward cooperatives already established.
According to him, this success is the result of synergy between the regional government, village administrations and all stakeholders in supporting the national strategic programme to strengthen the people’s economy.
Kristomei stressed that Kodam XXI/Radin Inten is not involved in managing the cooperatives, but rather supports the acceleration of infrastructure development needed so that the cooperatives can begin operating optimally.
“As a territorial unit, particularly the Kodam, we do not handle the cooperatives themselves. We were only asked to help accelerate the construction of their infrastructure,” he said.
He explained that this support forms part of the territorial unit’s duty in supporting national development, whilst strengthening the community economy as mandated by Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
The Pangdam also emphasised that the KDKMP were established through community deliberation mechanisms at the village level, in accordance with Circular Letter of the Minister of Cooperatives Number 4 of 2025, so that their existence is expected to address the economic needs and potential of each respective area.
He expressed hope that the KDKMP can serve as a vehicle for improving community welfare, strengthening village self-reliance, and developing businesses based on local potential that can add value to the village economy.
He also hopes that synergy between the TNI, regional governments, village administrations and communities will continue to be strengthened to ensure that all KDKMP can operate optimally, so that the programme’s benefits can be felt directly by the people and serve as a driver of economic growth at the village level.
