Pangandaran Earthquake: Tremors Felt as Far as Garut and Tasikmalaya

An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 shook Pangandaran Regency in West Java. Tremors were felt as far as Garut and Tasikmalaya. BMKG’s official X account reported intensities of III in Tasikmalaya and Garut, and II-III in Ciamis, for the quake on Thursday, 21 May. The quake occurred before dawn, at a depth of 23 kilometres. ‘Mag 4.6, 21-May-2026 04:04:57 WIB,’ BMKG posted. The epicentre was located at 8.16° South latitude and 108.24° East longitude, about 58 kilometres southwest of Pangandaran Regency. As of this report, BMKG had not reported any impacts.
