Vice Regent of Karangasem Pandu Prapanca Lagosa has been unanimously elected to lead the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) Karangasem for the 2026-2030 term. Lagosa has pledged to improve athletic performance and development programmes for athletes across various sports disciplines in Karangasem.
Lagosa’s election as chairman of KONI Karangasem was decided through an Extraordinary District Sports Deliberation (Musorkablub) held at the Wantilan of the Karangasem Regent’s Office on Friday, 13 March 2026. He believes athletes from Karangasem possess considerable potential and strong competitive spirit.
“Athletic achievement begins with sound coaching. Therefore, we will implement tiered coaching programmes,” said Lagosa on Friday.
Lagosa stated he will analyse various promising sports disciplines with potential to win medals at different championship events. He noted that coaching funds will be allocated according to priority levels for sports with medal-winning prospects.
He has called on all sports branch administrators to actively recruit talented athletes. Beyond targeting achievements at provincial level, he aims for athletes across various sports in Karangasem to compete at national and international levels.
“I will further optimise Karangasem’s sports potential to achieve better results than today,” he added.
The Musorkablub KONI Karangasem was attended by 25 of 29 sports branches with voting rights. All representatives present unanimously elected Pandu Prapanca as chairman of KONI Karangasem.
