Pandji Pragiwaksono Responds to Four Demands from Complainant in Alleged Religious Blasphemy Case
Comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono has responded to several conditions proposed by the complainant in the mediation process at Polda Metro Jaya. Through his lawyer, Haris Azhar, he stated that his side is open to dialogue and has noted the input from the complainant’s party.
“We explained earlier that we want dialogue first. Pandji also noted their input and expressed an apology if it is indeed considered wrong,” said Pandji’s lawyer, Haris Azhar, at Polda Metro Jaya on Thursday (9/4).
Haris mentioned that the complainant, represented by Novel Baswedan, presented four notes as conditions for resolving the case. These conditions include an apology, repentance, not repeating the act, and issuing a public apology.
“From Mr Novel, there are four notes: an apology, repentance to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, not repeating the act, and apologising to the public,” he explained.
Haris added that Pandji still respects religious values and shares the same position as a Muslim. Therefore, the mediation process is hoped to reach a meeting point without having to proceed to a longer legal route.
Polda Metro Jaya will examine experts regarding the case of alleged religious blasphemy by Pandji Pragiwaksono in his stand-up comedy Mens Rea. Expert testimony is needed.
