Pandeglang Government Inspects Collapsed Inter-Village Bridge in Sumur
The Pandeglang Regency Government has confirmed it has inspected a collapsed bridge in Kampung Tarikolot, Tunggal Jaya Village, Sumur District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. A team from the Pandeglang Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR) also inspected a landslide site at the permanent housing (huntap) for tsunami survivors in Kampung Palimping, Sumur.
“They are currently in the field,” said Head of DPUPR Pandeglang, Roni, on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
Roni stated that his agency has not yet been able to handle the two incidents. According to him, the field team is currently analysing the situation to determine the next steps for intervention. “We have visited the location, including the landslide at the huntap. The results of the survey will be coordinated with colleagues later,” he added.
It was previously reported that the inter-village connecting bridge in Kampung Tarikolot, Tunggal Jaya Village, Sumur District, Pandeglang Regency, had collapsed. The bridge collapsed after a dump truck carrying sand passed over it.
“The bridge collapsed after a dump truck transporting sand crossed it,” said Tunggal Jaya Village Secretary, Andi Suandi, on Tuesday (23/6).
He explained that the bridge was already in a severely damaged state before the collapse. He said the village had reported the bridge’s condition, but construction of a new bridge had not yet been carried out. “Indeed, initially the bridge was already heavily damaged because it has not been rebuilt for almost decades,” he stated.
Andi noted that the bridge serves as a link between Ujung Jaya, Cigorondong, and Taman Jaya villages. According to him, residents’ access is now cut off because there is no alternative bridge.
