Pandeglang DPRD Deputy Speaker Demands Removal of Suspect Appointed as Regent's Advisor

Pandeglang Regent Raden Dewi Setiani has appointed several government officials, including Ahmad Mursidi, who is currently a suspect. Deputy Speaker of Pandeglang DPRD, Fuhaira Amin, has demanded Mursidi’s removal.

‘We have consistently called for his removal. From my perspective, it is clear: remove Mr. Mursidi and the BKPSDM,’ Fuhaira told reporters on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

Fuhaira stated that public demands also urge Mursidi’s removal to prevent a conflict of interest.

‘The public demand is for Ahmad Mursidi to be removed to avoid any conflict of interest,’ she said.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Pandeglang Regional Secretariat’s Oproom. Four officials—Yahya Gunawan Kasbin, Hasan Bisri, Gimas Rahadyan, and Firmansyah—were sworn in person, while Ahmad Mursidi participated virtually.

‘In both my personal capacity and on behalf of the Pandeglang Regency Government, we need officials who can move faster, work smarter, and act more cohesively. Future challenges demand innovation and creativity,’ Dewi said in her speech on Tuesday, 26 May.

The regent stressed that the public demands swift, accurate, transparent, and impactful public services. She urged officials not to fear innovation and to continuously transform their work.

‘If there is a new method that is faster, better, more orderly, and compliant with regulations, implement it. Do not get stuck in routine work,’ she emphasised.

The newly appointed officials are as follows:

• Yahya Gunawan Kasbin as Inspector of the Inspectorate

• Hasan Bisri as Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency

• Gimas Rahadyan as Head of the Regional Financial Management Agency

• Firmansyah as Head of the Population Control, Family Planning, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection Agency

• Ahmad Mursidi as Regent’s Advisor on Government, Law, and Politics

It is worth noting that police have named Ahmad Mursidi, who serves as Head of the Pandeglang Investment and One-Stop Service Agency (DPMPTSP) in Banten, as a suspect. He was designated a suspect following a collision with a group of students at SDN Sukaratu 5 in Majasari sub-district on Thursday, 30 April, at approximately 9.30 am.

Nine people were injured in the incident, with two fatalities: Dewi Handayani, a trader, and Muhamad Milal, a student.

‘Based on the case review, he has been named a suspect,’ said the Police Chief.
