Pandalungan 2 Train Occupancy on Gambir-Jember Route Reaches 97.5 Percent

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 1 Jakarta recorded a 97.5 percent occupancy rate for the Pandalungan 2 train on its inaugural Gambir–Jember route. On its first day of operation, the train transported 390 passengers from the Daop 1 Jakarta region, according to KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo on Thursday. He noted that the high passenger volume on the first day demonstrates the public’s need for comfortable, safe, and punctual long-distance train services to East Java, particularly Jember. The breakdown of departing passengers from the Daop 1 Jakarta area included 330 from Gambir Station, 49 from Bekasi Station, and 11 from Cikarang Station. KA Pandalungan 2 departs from Gambir Station at 09.25 WIB and arrives at Jember Station at 23.20 WIB. The train uses a Stainless Steel Executive carriage configuration offering enhanced comfort, with a total capacity of 400 seats across eight executive carriages. Along its journey, the train stops at Bekasi, Cikarang, Cirebon, Tegal, Pekalongan, Semarang Tawang, Ngrombo, Cepu, Bojonegoro, Lamongan, Surabaya Pasarturi, Surabaya Gubeng, Sidoarjo, Bangil, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Klakah, Tanggul, and Rambipuji before terminating at Jember Station. Franoto stated that the operation of KA Pandalungan 2 is part of KAI’s commitment to continuously improving services and expanding travel options for the public. For the inaugural journey, tickets for KA Pandalungan 2 were discounted by 30 percent to Rp525,000. Going forward, normal fares will apply, starting from Rp750,000 on weekdays and Rp800,000 on weekends, in accordance with prevailing tariff regulations.
