Pancasila's Birth Anniversary Commemoration Plays Key Role in Promoting World Peace
The Tasikmalaya City Government in West Java held a ceremony to commemorate the 81st anniversary of Pancasila’s birth at the Bale Kota Ceremony Field on Letnan Harun Street, Bungursari District. The event serves as a moment of reflection to ensure the flame of Pancasila remains alive in every Indonesian citizen’s heart.
Acting Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Diky Candra Negara, stated that Pancasila’s birth anniversary reflects respect for the noble values that have formed the foundation of the Indonesian nation for decades. However, the commemoration is not merely a remembrance of the state’s founding history but a reminder in the midst of rapid societal changes.
“Indonesia remains firmly grounded in maintaining unity and the nation’s direction. Despite challenges and tests, we must stand strong and resilient, in line with the theme ‘Pancasila Unites the Nation, Foundation of World Peace,’” said Diky Candra Negara on Monday, 1 June 2026.
According to Diky, the theme ‘Pancasila Unites the Nation, Foundation of World Peace’ signifies Pancasila’s role in uniting all people despite ethnic, religious, cultural, and linguistic differences as Indonesia approaches its Golden Century of progress, independence, and sovereignty. Pancasila embodies noble values of inclusivity, tolerance, and mutual cooperation.
“In this historic moment, I urge all national components to preserve Indonesia’s diverse unity and play a key role in fostering global peace. This occasion calls for collective efforts to embed Pancasila’s values into every aspect of community, national, and state life,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Imvan Ibrahim of the 0612 Tasikmalaya Military District Command stated that commemorating Pancasila’s birth anniversary is a moment for reflection to ensure the flame remains alive in every citizen’s heart. This year’s event highlights Pancasila’s relevance not only in preserving Indonesia’s diverse unity but also in its crucial role in promoting world peace.
“Pancasila, as a ‘guiding star’, has proven effective in keeping Indonesia united amid diversity, while many nations face division, conflict, and global uncertainty. Indonesia demonstrates that differences are not reasons for division but strengths to move forward together. The nation bears the responsibility to foster global order as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution through consultation, humanity, unity, and social justice, striving to be part of the solution to global challenges,” he explained.
Students from Junior High School No. 18 in West Lombok assembled a puzzle featuring the Garuda Pancasila emblem during the Pancasila Birth Anniversary commemoration.
The responsibility to uphold and implement Pancasila lies not only with the government but with all national components, particularly the youth.
The Pancasila commemoration serves as a critical moment to strengthen national spirit and unity.
During the Pancasila Birth Anniversary, Farhan also urged the youth to embrace Pancasila as a living ideology.
Fadli Zon emphasised that Pancasila’s Birth Anniversary reflects the founders’ awareness that Indonesia must be built on a foundation of unity.
The current challenge lies in how deeply Pancasila’s values are embedded in societal behaviour, state governance, and daily social life.
