Pancasila Values in Quality Education
Pancasila, commemorated annually on 1 June as its founding day, serves as the nation’s foundation and worldview, as well as the source of values underpinning inclusive, fair, humane, and quality education.
As an open ideology, Pancasila encompasses fundamental, instrumental, and practical values that evolve with Indonesia’s internal dynamics and global demands, realising national aspirations to uphold human dignity.
Article 3 of Law No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System explicitly states that national education aims to develop abilities and shape a dignified national character to enlighten the nation’s life, fostering students into individuals who are devout, morally upright, healthy, knowledgeable, skilled, creative, independent, and responsible democratic citizens.
Quality education, as the vision of Kemendikdasmen under President Prabowo’s administration, is a crucial pillar of national development.
In an era of increasing globalisation and competition, quality education is not merely a necessity but a requirement to cultivate a competitive generation. Its implementation focuses not only on academic achievement but also on building students’ character grounded in Pancasila values.
