Pancasila Day 2026: Will there be a ceremony on 1 June?
The anniversary of Pancasila (Harlah) is commemorated annually on 1 June, which is also a public holiday. According to BPIP circular no. 2 of 2026, all government agencies and formal education institutions will hold commemorative ceremonies on 1 June 2026 at their respective locations.
The ceremony timings are as follows: 08.00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time) for institutions in thewestern region; 08.00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time) for those in central Indonesia; and 08.00 WIT ( Eastern Indonesia Time) for eastern Indonesia.
The ceremony structure, as outlined in the BPIP circular, minimally includes the following sequence: preparation, troop formation, commander and inspecting officer’s entrance, reports, raising the national flag, a moment of silence, recitation of Pancasila, reading of the 1945 Constitution preamble, the inspecting officer’s address, a prayer, and conclusion.
The official theme for the 2026 commemoration is ’ Pancasila as the Unity of the Nation and Foundation of World Peace’, which reflects the 1945 Constitution’s fourth preamble and Indonesia’s ’ To Build the World Anew’ vision. Beyond being the state philosophy, Pancasila embodies values of unity, humanity, and peace. Indonesia’s global role in peace missions and diplomacy demonstrates that peace is not just rhetoric but actionable. True peace begins with small acts like respecting differences, maintaining unity, and caring for those around us.
