Commemoration of Pancasila Day will be held again on 1 June. Ahead of the event, the official guidelines regarding the theme and logo for Pancasila Day 2026 have been issued by the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). The public and various government agencies can use these guidelines to prepare for the ceremony and publicity materials.

Background of Pancasila Day: The commemorations on 1 June were set by Presidential Decree No. 24 of 2016 on Pancasila Day. On 1 June each year, all components of the nation and Indonesian society commit to commemorating Pancasila Day as a form of Pancasila in action and to mainstream Pancasila in all aspects of civic life, nationhood, and statehood.

The shared commitment of all Indonesians to commemorate Pancasila Day in 2026 will be carried out through flag-raising ceremonies across the Republic of Indonesia and at Indonesian representations abroad.

Pancasila Day 2026 Theme: Based on Head of BPIP Circular No. 2 of 2026 on the Guidelines for Commemoration of Pancasila Day 2026, the official theme for Pancasila Day 2026 is “Pancasila, the Unifier of the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace”. The central-level Pancasila Day 2026 ceremony will be held on Monday, 1 June 2026, at 10:00 WIB in Jakarta, with the President as inspector of the ceremony.

Logo for Pancasila Day 2026: BPIP has established that the logo for Pancasila Day 2026 is Garuda Pancasila. On Pancasila Day 2026, the use of Garuda as the official logo serves to remind that Indonesia’s diversity is still united by the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Why is this important? - Preserving the sacredness of the national emblem - Strengthening national identity - Avoiding excessive interpretation of symbols - Reinvigorating the national collective memory.
