Pancasila Day 2026: Gapempi Urges Entrepreneurs to Strengthen Economy Based on Pancasila Principles
Minarni Panggabean, SH, MH, Chairperson of the National Leadership Council of the Indonesian Red and White Entrepreneurs Union (DPN Gapempi), has called on all domestic entrepreneurs to use the occasion of Pancasila Day as a foundation for strengthening the domestic economic structure. Amid global market dynamics, Pancasila values must be practically implemented through inclusive and equitable business practices.
Minarni stressed that Pancasila is not merely the nation’s political foundation but also a moral compass for running the national economy. The fifth principle, ‘Social Justice for All Indonesian People’, must be prioritised through collaboration between large, medium, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM).
‘The commemoration of Pancasila Day on 1 June 2026 is both a moment for reflection and action for the national business community. Gapempi is fully committed to eradicating economic disparities by building a partnership and mutual assistance-based business ecosystem. We must ensure that economic growth benefits all societal strata,’ Minarni Panggabean said in Jakarta on Monday, 1 May 2026.
Minarni further highlighted the challenges of digitalisation and environmental sustainability facing the industrial sector. She stated that digital economic sovereignty and commitment to green business represent modern applications of Pancasila principles to safeguard national sovereignty and the sustainability of Indonesia’s archipelago.
In another part of her statement, Minarni explained that Gapempi also urges the government to consistently introduce regulations supportive of local entrepreneurs without neglecting labour protection aspects.
Harmonious collaboration between government, workers, and entrepreneurs is key to creating a healthy and competitive investment climate.
‘Economic nationalism within the Pancasila framework does not mean closing off from the outside world. Rather, it demonstrates Indonesian entrepreneurs’ ability to stand on their own, innovate, and lead regional markets while upholding the nation’s identity and noble values,’ Minarni added.
Five Key Activities
Minarni detailed that in response to global economic challenges in 2026, Gapempi is implementing five key organisational activities to support national development.
First, creating a healthy business climate by fostering profitable, sustainable, and independent trade systems.
Second, nurturing micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) and large-scale businesses across sectors including trade, construction, industry, transport, agriculture, marine, banking, services, and other legitimate fields as per regulations.
Third, providing active communication and guidance to entrepreneurs to adapt to new regulations.
Fourth, conducting trade promotion activities domestically and internationally.
Fifth, collaborating with any parties, including the government, in mutually supportive and beneficial partnerships that serve the interests of all Gapempi members.
Minarni stressed that strong synergy between large entrepreneurs and UMKM operators would form a robust national economic defence.
‘Pancasila Day is an opportunity to prove that products and services from Red and White entrepreneurs can lead domestic markets and compete globally through mutually beneficial collaboration,’ Minarni concluded.
