PAN-Rebiro Ministry Prepares Scheme for Appointing PPPK Teachers
The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemen PAN-RB) is preparing a projection and appointment scheme for educators or teachers with Government Employee Work Agreements (PPPK) across Indonesia. Minister of PANRB Rini Widyantini revealed that the government will open opportunities for part-time PPPK teachers to transition to full-time PPPK status, scheduled for 2027.
“Part-time PPPK teachers will be given the opportunity to become full-time PPPK teachers, which will be carried out in 2027,” said Rini in her statement on Wednesday (19/8/2026).
In addition to full-time appointments, the government will also open opportunities for PPPK teachers to participate in the selection process for Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS), which is planned to open in early 2027.
“Opportunities will also be given for PPPK teachers to take part in the PNS selection, with registration expected in early 2027,” said Rini.
Rini explained that this step was taken to clarify the career paths of educators and strengthen the fulfilment of teacher needs nationally. She revealed that there are currently 231,246 part-time PPPK teachers recorded, out of a total of 955,245 PPPK teachers. She said this number will help fill the total teacher requirement of 526,689 positions.
“At present, there is a projected need for national teacher fulfilment of 526,689 formations. This of course consists of schools for teachers, including the Ministry of Religious Affairs, then in primary and secondary education, as well as in Sekolah Rakyat and Sekolah Garuda,” she said.
National Coordinator of P2G Satriwan Salim appreciated the government’s concrete action to improve teacher welfare through the full-time PPPK teacher recruitment mechanism.
Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR) Bahtra Banong welcomed the agreement to appoint PPPK teachers as civil servants in 2027 as an answer to the hopes of educators. He revealed that the government has accommodated the aspirations of PPPK employees. The government and the DPR have agreed to transfer the status of PPPK teachers to central government employees. Part-time PPPK teachers will be appointed full-time and will have the opportunity to take part in the 2027 PNS selection.
